I have had a successful writing career, with seven books published by major publishers. My novel, Petersburg, sold for $250,000 to Putnams, with a paperback sale of $200,000 to Fawcett. Petersburg went on to become a best seller in England, as well as being published in Germany, Italy and Greece.
After Petersburg, I wrote what I consider my best novel, Mistress of the Labyrinth, which was turned down by many publishers. Although not yet being able to sell Mistress, the journey I took with my main character, Lyra, literally changed my life. She opened me to a part of myself and led me on a journey that I wouldn't trade for a million dollar publishing advance.
Getting from devastation to acceptance and non-attachment to rejections has been a journey for me, one that I both appreciate and use to support you on your writing journey. I offer you everything I have learned from my life as a writer: my understanding of how to develop characters and story line; the powerful effects that our writing has on our inner lives; and finally, the process of editing and dealing with agents and publishers. I've done just about all of publishing from the writer's point of view – from A-Z!

I do not have a one-size-fits-all approach to teaching. Writing is an aspect of your creativity and your relationship to yourself, and I take all of this into account in working with you. I know how to stand strong against the negative voices inside of you that give you a hundred reasons why you shouldn't write. I know how to turn you into the writer you want to be! Teaching and leading people like you on the creative journey are my passion. As we work together and I get to know you, I'll expand and deepen the writing program that I develop especially for you.
