As your writing coach, I'll provide two benefits that nurture your writing. First, I teach you the craft of writing through a method that I call The Five Ingredients of the Scene. This takes the mystery out of creating characters and developing the story line. But teaching technique is actually the easy part of what I do.
My thirty years as a writing and creativity coach have shown me that what stops us from writing is not lack of talent or imagination, but the belittling voice of the Inner Critic who hammers into our head, "You'll never be a writer. No one wants to read what you write. You have nothing original to say, etc..." Knowing how to defang your Inner Critic so you can release the passion of your imagination is what differentiates me as a coach.
Choosing a writing coach is a big step. Calling me can feel daunting. In the next pages, I'll give you details on my introductory coaching packages. Follow the "Read How" links and you will find pieces written by students describing how my coaching methods have helped them. I offer these so that you have a sense of how I work and can decide if my approach appeals to you.
